Some say I'm just a New York City Auctioneer on he Some say I'm just a New York City Auctioneer on her way into a gala. I say it's my dreams realized. I often have to remind myself that this career wasn't even an option for my mom. Less than 10% of auctioneers are female, and half of them are rn fundraising Auctions. When my mom did these galas it was preached in the industry to do this work to promote your "real auction bussines" auctioneers would donate their time and talents to NPOs to self promote and have a free meal and drinks. I was teased and told I would need to find a "real job." Close people around me said it just a "bs hobby, " but I kept on studying fundraising and believing I had mor to offer, and here I am! Doing it! Supporting my family and living a great life just because I had a dream. A dream of a career that could help the world and support my life. I knew I had a cool talent, but I'm not sure I ever knew how perfect it would be for my heart, soul, and family when it bloomed. I'm so proud of this moment, and I will never take it for granted because I'm a NYC auctioneer on her way to raise tons of money for an amazing organization and help other realize their dreams.

Consignment items sold by third parties typically have a base price requirement, meaning you only collect any profit made above that price. Donation provided by nonprofit supporters do not take away from your fundraising dollars. However, these items are likely going to be at a lower price point and generate less ""buzz"" at your auction. The answer depends on your goals - donation items are ideal, but using consignment items strategically can be a serious auction booster.
